Marriott’s Mobile Requests Expands Globally, Adds Four More Brands

Popular two-way chat feature on Marriott Mobile app enables guests to customize their stay anywhere, anytime – and, in five languages
Bethesda, Md., November 17, 2015 –Marriott International Inc., is expanding Mobile Requests, the industry-leading two-way chat feature on its Mobile app to five additional brands – JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels and Marriott Executive Apartments.  Originally launched at select Marriott Hotels, Mobile Requests is also now available at Marriott Hotels across the globe and is being rolled-out at Courtyard and Residence Inn properties in  Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia.
Mobile Requests is offered exclusively to the nearly 54 million members of the company’s award-winning loyalty program Marriott Rewards, enabling them to chat in real time directly with hotel staff to answer questions, or request services and amenities starting 72 hours before their arrival, and throughout their stay. Guests can choose to text in five languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, French and German.
“We know nearly a quarter of our guests ask a question or make a request to hotel staff during their stay,” said George Corbin, Senior Vice President of Digital at Marriott International.  “With Mobile Requests, guests can communicate immediately with their hotel right from their smartphones wherever they are before, during and after their stay, making the Marriott Mobile app experience for next generation travelers seamless, intuitive and fulfilling.”
Marriott International was the first  global hotel company to offer a two-way chat option with on-property staff when it launched at 46 Marriott Hotels in May 2015. Guests with an upcoming reservation can use Mobile Requests to instantly communicate with staff hotel in two ways:  they may choose from a drop-down menu of most requested services and amenities, such as extra towels, bath amenities, or valet parking or begin a two-way chat with hotel staff using the “Anything Else” option.  Guests have made thousands of requests since Mobile Requests was launched, and guest surveys show it has contributed to a rise in overall satisfaction.
The Mobile Requests roll out is another step Marriott International is taking in leading digital innovation, following offerings such as mobile check-in, check-out and room ready alerts.  Additionally, Marriott is piloting a series of new mobile services including Mobile Key – allowing guests to use their mobile phone as a room key – at select hotels with plans to expand to additional hotels.  Marriott Rewards members who download the Marriott Mobile app will continue to benefit from these regular updates that further enhance the hotel stay experience.

Hyatt House New Orleans/Downtown Opens in City’s BioDistrict

CHICAGO (November 17, 2015) – Today, Hyatt House New Orleans/Downtown celebrated its opening, marking the first Hyatt House hotel in New Orleans. Hyatt Ziva Cancún Debuts in Punta Cancún

Surrounded on three sides by the Caribbean Sea, the 547-suite Hyatt Ziva resort has undergone an approximate $85 million expansion and renovation creating a new luxury all inclusive experience for guests of all ages. Architecture and Design
Renowned Mexican architect Ricardo Legoretta designed the original resort building that has been incorporated into the new Hyatt Ziva Cancún. The iconic design exemplified the contemporary Mexican architecture that came to define the development of Cancún and other Mexican beachside resorts. Respecting and maintaining its classic pyramid-style architecture, the resort has been expanded and reimagined to create an atmosphere that reflects the culture of the Yucatan. A bridge connecting the north and south beach provides guests easy access to both beaches, as well as entertainment, dining, and other resort features and amenities.  
Guests are welcomed into an elevated lobby that captures ocean views to the northeast, and in the evening, the lights of Isla Mujeres. The lobby is a blend of contemporary design juxtaposed with the original Mayan materials and themes. For example, one side of the lobby’s facade is local coral stone while the opposite side showcases modern glass cubes wrapped in a matrix of latticework simulating windswept driftwood. The resort’s furnishings are made in Mexico from local woods and fabrics, and the use of bright color accents adds Mayan detail. The Lobby Bar pays homage to Mayan culture with its geometric artwork and panels influenced by indigenous carvings and the language of the area’s original inhabitants. A signature grand staircase is the focal point of the resort and becomes seating for the outdoor amphitheater hosting special events in the evenings.
Guestrooms
Each of the resort’s 547 guest suites offer views of the Caribbean and the lavish resort gardens, furnishings reflecting the colors of the Yucatan with surprising accents such as butterfly inspired lighting and spa-style bathrooms with soaking tubs. All guest suites are designed with technology in mind to provide one touch lighting efficiency, and guests may also enjoy complimentary in-room refreshment bars, in-room dining service, and for upper-category accommodations, they can enjoy swim-up suites and private butler service. CHICAGO (January 5, 2015) – Hyatt Place Goa/Candolim is the newest Hyatt-branded hotel to officially open in Goa, India. The Ritz-Carlton Announces Paradise Valley

Chevy Chase, Md., January 14, 2016 – The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. and Five Star Development Resort Communities, LLC have signed an agreement for the development of a new resort and residences in Paradise Valley near Scottsdale, Arizona. “Paradise Valley in Arizona will be a great new destination for our brand in the Americas,” said Herve Humler, president and chief operating officer for The Ritz-Carlton. “We are pleased to be working with Five Star Development to create this unique desert resort for sophisticated travelers from around the world,” he continued. The affluent community know as Paradise Valley spreads from north of the Phoenix mountains to Cave Creek & Carefree and the McDowell Mountains to the east in greater metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona.  Spread out over twenty acres, The Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley resort will consist of 200 casita-style guest rooms and 20,000 square feet of function space to host luxury meetings for corporate and incentive clients or as the backdrop to stage weddings and local social functions.  The resort, with stunning views of iconic Camelback Mountain will also have a large destination spa with a health and wellness program featuring both an indoor and outdoor desert-inspired treatment menu. A citrus orchard and garden will grow seasonal produce harvested for the on-site restaurants.
The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Paradise Valley will be developed by Five Star Development Resort Communities in several phases adjacent to the hotel with residence owners having access to services from and privileges at the hotel including a dedicated concierge, priority access to hotel guest accommodations and amenities, in-residence dining and housekeeping. Hyatt Regency Changchun Opens In Heart Of The Jilin Capital

As part of the Hyatt Regency family, Hyatt Regency Changchun has been conceived to foster connections and serve as a dynamic, energizing space where guests can collaborate, share and find inspiration. Drawing on the green location, which enjoys some of the cleanest air in China, interior design firm Cap Atelier has incorporated myriad nature-inspired elements into the interiors. On entering the hotel lobby, guests are greeted by a triumvirate of striking textured-steel spheres symbolizing a rich harvest; the Regency Ballroom is dominated by a stunning interlacing of metal budding branches suspended from the ceiling. Cap Atelier was also inspired by the rich culture of northeastern China, reflected in back-lit lattice wooden frames, brick ovens and lantern-style pendant lighting.
Guestrooms and Facilities
Hyatt Regency Changchun houses 427 guestrooms, including 66 suites, designed to morph effortlessly from office to oasis, allowing guests to recharge.
Entry-level rooms measuring 40 square meters (431 sq ft) are dominated by a large picture window filling an entire wall. Warm wood surrounds the frame to create an eye-catching proscenium arch, perfectly framing the panoramic city view. Subtle Chinese influences appear in the soft furnishings and hexagonal lantern-style pendant lights.
Rooms are designed to connect guests to all the essentials, simply and intuitively, and are equipped with the latest facilities and amenities including a large LED TV, a workspace with enhanced lighting and complimentary high-speed Internet access.
The hotel’s 66 suites measure from 75 to 255 square meters (807–2,745 sq ft) and feature separate living areas and coffee machines. All suites and Regency Club rooms provide exclusive access to the Regency Club lounge on the 42nd floor, which offers complimentary breakfast, all-day coffee and tea service, and evening cocktails and canapés.
Guests can also energize in the hotel’s 1,300 square meters (13,993 sq ft) of wellness facilities, the largest among hotels in the city. On the 6th floor, guests will discover a 25-meter (82-ft) heated indoor pool, a whirlpool, an outdoor lounging terrace, and a fitness center, equipped with the very latest in technology-enabled exercise equipment.
Dining and Drinking
Hyatt Regency Changchun’s five restaurants and bar span the culinary globe. From authentic Chinese cuisine to fine European fare, the hotel provides multiple options for quick drinks, business lunches, intimate dinners or casual dining experiences, all offering culinary experiences designed to inspire food lovers.
The Lounge on the lobby level is a residential-style venue designed to invoke the feel of a northeastern village courtyard, combining skylights, black stone walls, freestanding fireplaces and a jade color palette. The Lounge offers simple Western and Chinese comfort food, including international wines and a selection of Chinese and afternoon teas, accompanied by piano performances in the evenings.  
Market Café is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant, where chefs at live cooking stations and marble counters offer a lively, theatrical display of Western and Asian cuisine to stimulate all the senses. A variety of fresh northern Chinese noodles will be served straight off the stove, while authentic Italian pizza will emerge freshly baked from a pizza oven.
Pin Yue is the Chinese restaurant at Hyatt Regency Changchun, offering authentic Jilin cuisine using the freshest local and seasonal ingredients, as well as signature Beijing duck roasted in a traditional wood-fired duck oven. Twelve private dining rooms can accommodate up to 20 guests and feature their own pantry to create a relaxed ‘dine-in-the-kitchen’ atmosphere. Personalized menus and a private butler service are also provided.
Those after a quick refuel will head to Pastry Shop, which offers sandwiches, pastries, cakes, freshly brewed coffee and handmade chocolates and macaroons —all made daily— in addition to seasonal gift sets.
The Bar, expected to open in the second quarter of 2016, will feature an ‘after-the hunt’ theme, celebrating and commemorating the rich tradition of field sports across the globe. Decorated with vintage hunting paraphernalia, The Bar will serve craft cocktails and a carefully curated selection of wines, beer and spirits, accompanied by live music. A wooden spiral staircase leads to a VIP room where a personal playlist can be arranged.
Event Venues
Hyatt Regency Changchun aims to establish itself as the city’s premier events venue. The hotel offers eight flexible event spaces totaling 2,300 square meters (24,757 sq ft), designed to offer a location for every occasion and make the most of every meeting.
The hotel’s main event venue is the Regency Ballroom on the 2nd floor, a pillar-free 800-square-meter (8,611 sq ft) space that can accommodate up to 500 guests, adjacent to a 500-square-meter (5,382 sq ft) foyer, ideal for pre-or post-event cocktails. Inspired by the Spring Festival, guests are welcomed through tall doors with striking back-lit transoms evoking traditional guaqian paper-cutting. Guests will then flow into the ballroom featuring the eye-catching ceiling of metal branches, where emerging red fruit symbolizes ‘the fading of winter and approach of spring.’
On the 3rd and 5th floors are seven multi-functional event spaces equipped with the very latest audio-visual equipment. Ranging from 70 to 125 square meters (753–1,345 sq ft), the event spaces can accommodate gatherings from 20 to 80 guests.
Regardless of the event type, the hotel’s on-site event professionals are primed to plan creative themes, stunning decorations, innovative lighting, immersive digital displays and customized food and drink menus to both engage and energize guests.
